ZUNI NIGHTS Scarf Video

.

Inspired by the timeless artistry of the American Southwest, I created Zuni Nights using my rain-on-the-rocks technique. Hand-painting on rain-kissed silk draped over natural river stones let me capture the landscape’s subtle textures.

.

A soft beige backdrop is framed with a dusty black border accented by hand-painted metallic copper zigzag details, while abstract brushstrokes and splashes of black, orange, and shimmering bronze create movement and texture across the silk. The bronze droplets catch the last light as the desert settles into night.

.

Before the brush touched the silk, nature had already begun the painting. River stones shaped the surface. A passing drizzle awakened the fibers. Then color arrived—dripped, flicked, and set free to follow the paths carved by rocks and water. The result is not simply painted silk, but a preserved moment in nature.

.

This Zuni Nights scarf is thoughtfully paired with an authentic vintage Zuni sterling silver ring from a private collection. Set with seven genuine coral stones in the traditional Zuni style, the ring serves as both an elegant scarf clasp and a piece of wearable history. The pairing celebrates two handcrafted art forms—hand-painted silk and Native American jewelry—creating a one-of-a-kind presentation that is as distinctive as the person who wears it.

.

Hand-painted on luxurious silk, Zuni Nights is designed for those who appreciate artistry, storytelling, and distinctive details.

Note on the Companion Ring

.

The vintage Zuni sterling silver ring paired with Zuni Nights has its own history. This exquisite coral ring, originally from my American Indian art gallery, was thoughtfully selected to beautifully enhance the hand-painted silk, showcasing its enduring craftsmanship and artistry.

.

Together, the silk and silver bring together two handmade traditions—one newly created, one carrying decades of artistry and history.

What We Love About It

.

We love how Zuni Nights blends art with adornment. The hand-painted bronze and copper details shimmer as they catch the light, while the vintage Zuni ring serves as both jewelry and an elegant scarf clasp. Every fold reveals a new composition of color and texture, making each wearing a little different from the last.

.

It’s bold without being loud, earthy yet refined, and equally at home with denim, linen, or an evening jacket. The result is a piece that feels collected rather than purchased—as though it already has a story to tell.
