HOW TO USE

Create a writing ritual or enhance your writing experience

  • Place the positive affirmation bottle on your desk so your subconscious can take in the 3 words.
  • Open the bottle and roll a bit of blend on your hand, wrist, neck, head …
  • Inhale deeply while thinking about your affirmation. ( I Am Focused or I Am Inspired …)
  • Begin each writing, editing, or brainstorming cycle in the same way, using the appropriate affirmation and blend.
  • Use the blends as often as you like.

Each blend is designed using very specific oils in exact amounts that are known to evoke a particular frame of mind, based on their chemical composition and their reputations in terms of emotional support.

How and Why Does This Work?

When you use scent as part of your ritual to prepare for an upcoming action, such as writing, revising, editing …  your brain accepts that scent as a harbinger of what is to come and prepares for the forthcoming actions you associate with that smell.

For example, just a few whiffs of a particular blend, alerts the brain that you’re about to sit at your desk to focus or to become inspired. By utilizing our Positive Affirmation Blends as part of your routine, you create a neural shortcut of sorts that helps to reinforce the positive behavior you hope to make more regular.

A Bit More

Essential oils have long been known to elicit emotional responses. They help to create moods, to relax, and uplift our mental attitude, all of which help with the creative process. By using our sense of smell as a tool for creativity, we aid our memory, stimulate our emotions, and activate our brain via the limbic system. The limbic system is responsible for pleasure, emotion, and memory. The more times we smell a particular scent, the more we retain a clear vision of a past memory or experience. This helps to create patterns of new habits needed for the creative process that is writing.

Because there are so many essential oils available, it may be confusing to know which ones are right for you. So, in conjunction with a master blender from Eze, France, we have solved the selection conundrum and created six blends specifically to help with your craft.

Where Do We Get Our Oils?

Our oils are sourced from organic only producers from around the world. The oils are not grocery store oils, not oils from Amazon, and are not from multi-level marketing suppliers like YL or DT. Because of our direct relationships, our prices are sensible. We use organic grapeseed oil as as the carrier oil, safe for those with nut allergies.

Our master blender is from Côte d’Azur in France – formally of the perfume factory/laboratory in Eze-Village – and  takes into consideration the quality of the oil, the various uses, as well as the properties it holds for each affirmation need. Each oil is batch specific GC-MS tested and has the certificate of analysis. Each bottle is blended and poured upon your order so they are absolutely fresh!
