Caring for Your Silk

First, the good news: Unlike your underwear, your silk scarf probably won’t need washing! Silk is a natural fiber that appreciates gentle handling. With occasional airing and proper storage, you may never need to wash it.

  • Washing: When washing is appropriate for your particular scarf, hand wash gently in cool water using a mild detergent formulated for silk. Avoid rubbing, wringing, or prolonged soaking. Never machine wash.
  • Drying: Gently press excess water between clean towels. Lay flat to air dry, away from direct sunlight and heat.
  • Ironing: Use a low-temperature silk setting, preferably while the fabric is slightly damp. Iron on the reverse side, using a clean pressing cloth for added protection.
  • Storage: Store clean, completely dry silk loosely folded or rolled in a drawer or box. Keep away from direct sunlight, moisture, and excessive heat.

Thoughtful Packaging

Your silk scarf is carefully wrapped in acid-free tissue paper to help protect it during shipping and provide a lovely presentation when it arrives.

You can also reuse the tissue paper at home when storing your scarf. Simply fold or roll your silk with the tissue to help protect it between wearings.

Shipping & Handling

A $10 shipping and handling charge applies to each scarf.
